2012: Science or Superstition?

A suggestion from Sulav :)
"December 21, 2012: the end date of the sophisticated Long Count Calendar created by the ancient Maya in Central America. Countless books and websites, magazine articles and newspaper headlines debate its meaning, with enthusiasts in two camps: those forecasting apocalypse–the end of time–and those who see a coming renewal, a rebirth of consciousness...

Adding fuel to the debate, some scientists see the increasing number of natural disasters in recent years as evidence of a catastrophic climax of events in 2012. How much of what we're hearing is science and how much is superstition? In this film the leading researchers, writers and scientists in the field tell us exactly what this date means to them, why it's important, and what we should expect.

Featured in the film are Graham Hancock, John Major Jenkins, Daniel Pinchbeck, Alberto Villoldo, Anthony Aveni, Robert Bauval, Jim Marrs, Walter Cruttenden, Lawrence E. Joseph, Alonso Mendez, Douglas Rushkoff, John Anthony West and Benito Vegas Duran." - http://www.2012dvd.com/

  3. December 21st 2012 became popular because of the Mayan calender. The Mayans used its calender to measure time similar to our calender. Therefore, December 21st 2012 is the end of a cycle, not the end of the world. December 21st is the winter solstice.

If you understand that the Mayan calender is a calender that measures time, then the end of its calender is similar to the end of our calender which is December 31st.

The Mayan elders do support the new age movement which suggested that we will move into the age of light around 2012. They don't support the doom and gloom side of 2012. The Mayan elders have incredible knowledge about how the Universe truly works which is why they know things that even our greatest scientists don't. In order to understand 2012, we need to understand how the Universe truly works. Unfortunately, mainstream science does a poor job teaching us how the Universe truly works.

I personally believed that 2012 is about the evolution of human consiousness and the shift to a new age. This shift is already happening because more people all over the world are waking up.

In order for this shift to occur, the old paradigm has to collapse and make room for the new. Some of the evidences for this are the collapse of the world monetary system which should happen really soon and the rise of free energy movements. During this transition there will be hardship, but once it is over, life will be normal again. Instead of listening to mainstream media, we should prepare ourselves for some hard times and help each other. As long as we stick together, we will survive this transition.

  4. Hey PL Chang that is an interesting view on 2012. Maybe we have been in shift to a new age for @ least the past 50 years. So much has changed so quickly and is still changing and new things are being discovered all the time. If I look back to all the history I know I dont see any such speed in advancement's, maybe someone will correct me?

Wouldn't that be interesting if the monetary system collapsed, I have always thought money to bring so much trouble to life and I wonder what the world would be like without it.
